When Should I See A Doctor

Depending on your pre-exising conditions and the symptoms you are exhibiting, you should see a doctor specific to that condition to determine if you have psoriatic arthritis before beginning on a regime of over-the-counter treatment or other self help strategies to deal with your condition:

• A person who has psoriasis and develops joint pain should be reviewed by a rheumatologist to determine whether they have psoriatic arthritis.

• A person who has arthritis and develops a scaly red skin rash should be reviewed by a dermatologist to determine whether they have psoriasis.
