Over-The-Counter Treatments - NSAID's General Advice
It is best to avoid taking over the counter medications without consulting with one’s doctor.
While many of the non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used in the treatment of mild psoriatic arthritis may be available over the counter, the strength available that way is usually for pain relief rather than control of inflammation.
It is advisable for persons with arthritis to consult their doctor to assure that they will be receiving the appropriate dose of NSAID.
There may be problems with taking NSAIDs if one has other medical conditions, and that too needs to be considered by the physician.
